Liverpool and the Wirral

The Paint Is the Last Day

Filling, sanding, caulking and priming come first. By the time the colour goes on, the walls are already flat and the lines are already straight, so the finish is just the part you get to see.

Fourteen years and the same three questions every time: how long will it take, will you cover my things, and will it still look like this in two winters. The answers are on this page, and they do not change once we are in the house.

How we work

Prep, Paint, Put Back

Two things decide whether a decorating job still looks right in two years, and neither of them is the colour you picked.

Trade paint being poured into a roller tray

Trade paint, not the tin on offer

It covers in two coats instead of three, it does not flash when the light moves across the wall, and it takes a wipe down without polishing itself shiny in patches.

A finished room with light raking across a flat wall

Put back the way we found it

Sheets down before a tin is opened, sockets off rather than cut around, edges caulked, and the room back together on the last afternoon instead of the following week.

What Liverpool Says

Jobs finished across Allerton, Crosby, Woolton and the Wirral.

They spent a full day filling and sanding before a tin was opened. I nearly rang to ask when the painting was starting. Two years on there is not a crack anywhere.

Gemma LithgowAllerton

Quoted nine hundred and fifty for the outside, took an extra day because of the weather, and still charged nine hundred and fifty. That is the whole review.

Paul SankeyCrosby

Sprayed the kitchen doors in place and I cannot find a single run on them. It looks like a new kitchen for a fraction of what a new kitchen costs.

A photo and the rough dimensions is usually enough for a fixed price. If it needs a look in person we come out in the evening, so nobody takes a day off work for a quote.
