Stove and liner, Kendal
"They measured the room and talked me out of the 8 kW stove I wanted. The 5 kW heats the whole cottage, and we can still sit in the same room as it."

Stoves and chimneys in Kendal and the Lakes
Wood burning and multi fuel stoves, flue liners and chimney sweeping across South Lakeland, fitted by HETAS registered installers. We size every stove to its room, so it never cooks you out.
In the greenA flue thermometer comes with every stove, so you always know it is burning clean.
Size your stove
An oversized stove gets turned down, smoulders and tars the flue. Give us the room and we will tell you the size, and whether it needs an air vent.
5.1 kW of heat for 51.2 m³
Ready to burn. Dry wood lights fast, burns hot and keeps the glass clear.
Is your wood ready?
Split a log and push a moisture meter into the fresh face. Wet wood hisses, smokes and coats your flue with tar, which is how most chimney fires start.
Since 2021, logs sold in small bags in England must be 20% moisture or less. Ours are kiln dried to about 15%.
Kiln dried logs, £95 a bulk bagDelivered and stacked around Kendal, with a free meter reading on the doorstep.

Chimneys
Brush and vacuum, dust sheets down, and a sweep certificate for your insurer.
A camera up the whole flue, with the footage sent to you, before you buy a stove or a house.
A stainless steel liner for an old chimney, so it draws properly and stays sealed.
No more jackdaw nests in April or rain down the flue.

No. Without a chimney we fit an insulated twin wall flue through the wall or the roof, fully certified.
Usually. Most older chimneys need a stainless steel liner to draw well and stay sealed. We check with a camera first.
Only on a Defra exempt stove, with the right fuel. We check your address and fit an exempt model if you need one.
At least once a year for wood, ideally before the first fire of autumn. You get a certificate for your insurer.
We do. As HETAS registered installers we sign the work off for you, and leave a certificate and a CO alarm.
