Alcove units, Marchmont
"Our tenement walls lean in every direction and they still got a shadow gap you could run a card along. Painted in a stone we chose from their samples, and fitted in a day."

Fitted wardrobes and joinery in Edinburgh
Fitted wardrobes, alcove units and built in shelving, drawn to the millimetre, made in our Leith workshop and scribed to walls that were never straight to begin with.
Design the inside
Tap a bay to change what goes inside, choose a finish, then close the doors. At the survey we draw your real wall the same way, to the millimetre.

Finish
Old walls are never straight
Edinburgh tenements and Georgian flats lean, bow and slope. Every Ashlar and Oak piece has a scribe edge, a strip left long in the workshop and cut on site to follow your wall exactly, so there is no gap and no bead of filler.
The workshop in Leith

Measured to the millimetre, drawn, and agreed with you line by line.

Cut, jointed and dry fitted in the workshop before a panel leaves.

Painted in our spray booth, so the finish is flawless and your house stays clean.

Carried up, scribed to the walls and hung, usually in a day or two.
"If the drawing says 2,312 millimetres, it is 2,312. Not about that, not near enough."Alasdair Grant, master joiner, 34 years at the bench

"The ceiling slopes at two different angles on our top floor. The wardrobes follow both, and the doors close without a gap."

All the time. Leaning walls, high ceilings and stone stairs are normal here. We carry every panel up by hand and scribe to the walls on site.
Painted MDF is smooth, stable and any colour you like, sprayed in our workshop. Oak and walnut are veneered or solid, oiled or lacquered, for a warmer, natural look.
